A Cuban woman shared on TikTok the bitter experience she had when meeting a man she met on the same social network, after he stood her up at a restaurant, leaving her with a $120 bill to pay.
In the video posted by the user @ana.menendez89, the young woman recounted that after several messages with the man, he invited her to dinner at an expensive restaurant. "I thought, let me give myself a chance because I've been single for a long time, let me open up a little," she explained.
According to the account, when she arrived at the location, the man had not yet arrived, but he texted her: “Look, go ahead and order whatever you want because I'm going to be a little late.” Convinced that she was about to meet "the love of her life," the Cuban woman ordered an expensive drink, appetizers, and prepared to wait.
However, the meeting ended in the worst way. "When the man arrived, as soon as he saw me, he said, 'Oh, I'm sorry, but you're not the girl from the videos, you don't have the same face.' And with that, he turned his back and left," she recounted, clearly affected.
The young woman acknowledged, amidst laughter and frustration, that she usually uses filters in her videos to appear younger, but she didn't expect such a cruel reaction. "It broke my heart. That man left me with that awful bill of 120 dollars. So, no more filters from now on," she concluded.
Her testimony has sparked thousands of comments and reactions among Cuban users, who, between jokes and expressions of empathy, encourage her to not lose hope in love, although they recommend "fewer filters and more video calls before going out."
