One of the Cubans injured during the explosion that occurred at the traditional parrandas in the municipality of Guayos, in the province of Sancti Spíritus, has been d discharged from the hospital and continues his satisfactory recovery, according to local activist Javier Carta on social media.

It concerns José Carlo Falcó, a carpenter by trade and a resident of the town of Camujuaní, who suffered burns during the accident that shocked the public celebrations a few weeks ago.

"He's already out of the hospital and improving! That's great, bro. A son of Camajuaní that everyone was keeping an eye on regarding his health," Carta wrote on his Facebook profile.

The message also expresses gratitude for the assistance from family members, neighbors, and community members, both within and outside of Cuba, who sent medications, creams, and financial support to the injured.

"Many thanks to his girlfriend, father-in-law, and mother-in-law, Wilder, president of the La Loma neighborhood, Inay, Ana Dilen, and all the Lomeros abroad who have helped with medicines and creams for all the injured. Thank you and wishing a speedy recovery," he added.

During the recent celebration of the parrandas, two mortar explosions were reported, resulting in a total of nine injured.

Two of them were reported by doctors in critical condition, one of whom passed away and another was still in life-threatening condition; three were serious and the rest had less serious or minor injuries.

The fatality was identified as Arniel Díaz Pacheco, who succumbed to severe burns.

The injured were transferred to hospitals in Sancti Spíritus and Santa Clara, where they received specialized medical care.

Since then, neighbors, family members, and emigrants from Sancti Spíritus have organized solidarity campaigns to provide medications, gauze, and ointments that are in short supply in the country's healthcare centers.

The case of José Carlo Falcó has generated a widespread wave of support on social media, especially from communities of emigrants in the United States and Spain, who have contributed medical supplies and direct donations.

At least three of the most seriously injured remain under medical observation.
