The Cuban filmmaker and producer Sergio Alexander, a graduate of the Faculty of Audiovisual Media Arts (FAMCA), is experiencing a unique journey that blends adventure, art, and humanity.

On her social media account, she shared a video showing part of the bike ride she is taking with three friends. They are heading towards Pico Turquino, the highest point in Cuba, and they have been fortunate to reconnect with the true essence of the Cuban spirit when a farming family sheltered them for a while in their home.

The project began in Havana and aims to showcase "the truth" of the island's paths and the stories that accompany them.

In one of his most recent posts, Sergio described how a Cuban family welcomed them during a heavy rain, offering food and coffee to help them regain their strength before continuing their journey.

"What makes them special? Without a second thought, they gave us everything they had, and I can say for sure, taking it away from themselves. I thank God for being Cuban and knowing that despite our difficulties, we are the people with the biggest hearts," the artist expressed.

The gesture, described as a moment of gratitude and connection, sparked dozens of reactions and comments on social media, where his followers highlighted the hospitality of the Cuban people and the spirit of resistance that characterizes those living on the island.

The young director, associated with the Gladius Cinema project, continues his journey toward Turquino. The group of cyclists consists of two Cubans and two Argentinians. They are documenting every kilometer as a testament to the solidarity that still beats in Cuba.
