A video shared on social media claims that the body of a war veteran in the municipality of Contramaestre, Santiago de Cuba, did not receive state support or official honors at the time of his burial.

The recording was shared by journalist Mario J. Pentón on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on December 2, 2025, and shows a man criticizing the conditions of the burial. In the video, the whistleblower claims that the deceased was a "fighter of the revolution" and questions why no medals, flag, or symbols usually accompanying these funerals were placed on him. He also states that the burial was delayed due to a lack of space in the local cemetery.

The material triggered a strong reaction on social media. On X, several users expressed outrage over the treatment of the veteran and denounced the regime's neglect. "They are about to throw people in a sack after they die. How horrifying," wrote one user, while another noted that "the dictatorship has no interest in the people at all."

On Facebook, where the journalist also shared the video, hundreds of comments agreed that the incident reflects the country's deterioration and the lack of respect even towards those who supported the system. "This is the revolution they defended," one user remarked, while another commented, "Rome pays the traitors, but despises them." Others highlighted the human aspect of the demand: "This is not about medals, but about dignity and respect for every Cuban," wrote one internet user.

The complaint adds to numerous recent grievances regarding the critical state of funeral services in Cuba, characterized by shortages of coffins, delays in burials, and the deterioration of cemeteries, amidst the prolonged economic crisis facing the country.
