A young Cuban identified on social media as Adis (@adis_nails15), a content creator focused on nail art, sparked an intense debate on social media after posting a video in which she explained the reasons that led her to leave her studies to start her own business in Cuba.

“I decided to leave school to pursue my true passion, being a manicurist. Ever since I was little, I have always felt a connection to the art of nails,” said the young woman, who claims to be learning the craft on her own by watching tutorials and practicing independently.

Her decision was described by many users as brave and understandable given the economic challenges faced by young people on the island, but it also sparked mixed opinions about the importance of formal education in a country where state salaries are low and opportunities are scarce.

Some internet users advised him not to abandon his studies: "You can do both at the same time, study and work. Keep that in mind."

Others defended their choice, arguing that "in Cuba, studying is a waste of time" and that young people prefer to invest in private ventures that allow them to support their families.

"What's the point of all that effort if when you graduate you only earn 2,000 pesos a month? Keep doing your little nails, it's your dream," a user said.

The video, accompanied by tags like #nailsart and #Cubanmanicurist, has received hundreds of reactions, applause, and criticism, reflecting a reality faced by many young Cubans: the dilemma of whether to study or seek an alternative to survive and thrive in a country in crisis.
