The Cuban singer-songwriter Carlos Varela announced the postponement of his concerts scheduled for December 19 and 20 at the Flamingo Theater Bar in Miami, after not receiving timely approval for his work visa from the U.S. consulate in Madrid.

I'm very sorry to inform you that my work visa has not yet been approved, so the concerts will have to be postponed, the troubadour expressed in a statement shared on his social media, where he also thanked the audience for their patience and affection.

The artist had already been forced to postpone the performances he had scheduled for November 14 and 15 at the same venue, for the same reason: the lack of timely visa approval.

"We waited until the last moment in the hope of receiving the authorization on time, but it has not been possible," he added.

The author of 'William Tell' explained that the procedure was initiated well in advance, but it has been in administrative process for over a month now.

“Since a year ago, my attorney and I started all the procedures for this visa. It is very unfortunate that this is happening. I go through this process every year, and this is the first time something like this has happened to me,” she lamented in a previous post.

Varela recalled his commitment to his audience in Miami, where his shows often sell out weeks in advance. “The tickets were sold out months ago and I know this affects your schedules, plans, and hopes, as well as mine. My team, my musicians, and I are ready to resume the tour as soon as the visa is confirmed,” he stated.

Varela's statement concluded with a message of hope and affection: “I leave you seven hugs, and may God bless you.”

Carlos Varela has offered numerous concerts in Miami, sharing the stage with figures such as Willy Chirino, Leoni Torres, Cimafunk, and Haydée Milanés, in events that celebrate Cuban music and the connection with their audience in exile.
