A Cuban woman living in the United States sent her family in Cuba a small package with items she thought would be useful to them. However, a few days later, she received a call that left her astonished.
The shipment was intended for several family members, and among them was a "special little package" for his aunt. It contained 20 dollars, underwear, "a pair of flip-flops that she specifically requested," and some Rice Royal bags, which are popular in Miami for their durability, making them ideal for grocery shopping at agricultural markets in Cuba since they are made of sack cloth.
The aunt didn't like the gift and called out her niece in Miami, asking how she could send such a recycled item. "Don't send me gifts like that anymore, or next time send the bags filled."
The story was told by the niece in a video shared on social media through the Instagram profile @simplementes_cubanos. The names of the women involved in this case are not disclosed, which is a complaint more common than many people might imagine.
The niece received numerous pieces of advice from internet users, including one person who pointed out, "Thank your aunt; she freed you from the burden of sending packages to Cuba."
