"That's not how it's done. Moms aren't around for those scares anymore": This Cuban is reprimanded for how he got home in Cuba

A TikTok video showcases the emotional and surprising return of a young man to his home in Cuba, generating reactions of joy and concern. Many celebrate the family reunion, while others warn about the risks of such surprises. The scene resonates particularly among Cuban emigrants during Christmas, evoking feelings of nostalgia and criticism of the regime that keeps them away from their loved ones.

A video posted on TikTok has stirred a wave of emotions —and also reprimands— among Cubans. In the footage, a young man makes a surprise arrival at his home in Cuba, but the scene ended up worrying more than one person: his mother, upon seeing him suddenly appear at the door and after embracing him, seems on the verge of fainting in her son's arms.

The clip, shared by @carloandres244, has garnered thousands of views and comments in just a few hours. Most celebrate the reunion, but others did not hide their concern. “That’s not okay, mothers are not here for those scares,” wrote one user, while another added: “Something bad might happen, the thrill is too intense.”

The video also stirred tears and memories among those who live far from their loved ones. “Poor thing, she almost had an emotional breakdown seeing her baby. I pray to God that day arrives for me, I haven’t seen my son in eight years,” commented a user, one of the most applauded reactions. “I wouldn’t do that even if my life depended on it, my mom would have a heart attack,” added another internet user, amidst nervous laughter.

Amid all the debate, many spoke out in defense of the young man and applauded his gesture. “That’s true love, there’s nothing greater than being able to hug your mother again,” wrote one person, while another user added: “Long live the family, those moments are unique.” And although some warned of the risks, the majority agreed that it was a sincere and heartwarming moment.

The images struck a chord with Cuban émigrés, especially on the eve of Christmas. "Damn communism, because of them we are far from our loved ones," wrote a user who admitted he hasn't been able to return to Cuba for over a decade. Others simply couldn't hold back their tears: "Every time I see a video like this, it breaks me inside."
