A crocodile crossing the street as if it were on a runway has become the new sensation on TikTok. The video, recorded by a Cuban resident in Florida, the creator @rayfi73, shows the massive reptile walking with complete calm while several drivers stop traffic to record it with their phones.
Far from instilling fear, the scene sparked laughter. “With such swagger, he walks in traffic,” wrote one user, while another joked: “That’s true confidence in his steps.” Many agreed he looked like “the king of the neighborhood,” and there was even someone who remarked: “Not even Daddy Yankee enters with that much flow.”
Some users claimed that the video was filmed in Tampa, while others preferred to summarize it with a now-classic phrase: "Only in Florida." Among the most shared comments, one user joked: "The boss asking why I’m late, and I: you won’t believe it", while another added: "The alligator moves at its own pace, not in a hurry... it has been living there since before they built the street."
The clip has amassed thousands of views and confirms what everyone knows: in Florida, anything can appear in the middle of traffic. Neither hurricanes nor lost tourists cause as much commotion as a stylish alligator.
That said, while the protagonist of the video has won the public's affection, experts remind us that approaching these animals is not a good idea. One thing is to make a viral TikTok, and another entirely is to run for your life.
