The President of the United States, Donald Trump, posted an image accompanied by a message on his Truth Social account this Saturday, which would confirm the transfer of Nicolás Maduro to a U.S. military vessel following his capture.

"The message, posted shortly after noon, simply states: "Nicolás Maduro aboard the USS Iwo Jima." The brief text was accompanied by a photograph showing Maduro with his face covered and escorted by armed personnel, presumably inside a boat or military facility."

According to sources cited by CNN and Reuters, the operation that led to the detention of the Venezuelan leader was carried out by the Delta Force unit, supported by CIA intelligence.

The capture would have occurred during the early morning hours, when U.S. forces stormed a residence where the president was located alongside his wife, Cilia Flores.

Trump did not provide further details on the current whereabouts of the detainees, although Pentagon officials confirmed that there were no American casualties during the incursion.

A press conference is expected at Mar-a-Lago, Florida, where the U.S. president will provide more information about the operation and the charges Maduro will face on U.S. territory.

The President's statement sparked a wave of international reactions. Allied governments of Caracas, such as China, Iran, and Cuba, condemned the attack and labeled it a "violation of international law," while the Venezuelan opposition hailed the event as "the end of an era."
