Cuban finance expert links the absence of a free market to social collapse in Cuba

Cuban expert in markets and business rescue, Yurek Vázquez, argues that the absence of free enterprise leads to a systemic degradation that goes beyond the economic sphere. His statements on Instagram garnered widespread support among Cuban users. The message connects material crisis, social fracture, and forced emigration.

The Cuban economist and entrepreneur Yurek Vázquez stated that the absence of a market economy in Cuba has led to the collapse not only of commerce but also of education, family, and individual dignity.

In a video posted on his Instagram account, the also collaborator of Mundiario and founder of the Wall Street Business Academy in Miami presented a comprehensive analysis of the Cuban collapse from an economic perspective.

In his view, when a country eliminates free enterprise, it not only restricts commercial activity but also initiates a process of structural degradation that ultimately impacts all areas of social life.

Vázquez stated that in Cuba, not only has the banking system or the productive infrastructure collapsed, but also the national identity, education, and social cohesion.

In its analysis, the prolonged imposition of a model where the State decides what to do, how to produce, and how to live destroys creativity, nullifies individual initiative, and erodes the dignity of people in securing their own livelihoods.

The expert directly linked the loss of hope to family disintegration and mass emigration.

According to him, the lack of opportunities drives children to take to the sea, with tragic consequences, as a result of a system that denies the possibility of personal progress.

For Vázquez, Cuba exemplifies the fate of any society where free enterprise is stifled: a steady path toward impoverishment and chaos.

The statements are made in the context of a growing debate over the structural causes of the Cuban crisis, marked by chronic shortages, the deterioration of basic services, and the ongoing exodus of professionals and young people from the country.

Reactions

The message generated a wave of supportive comments. Several users agreed that, although capitalism is not perfect, socialism and communism represent "the death of human hope."

Others highlighted the straightforward and unambiguous tone of the analysis, describing it as one of the clearest explanations of the Cuban reality.

Recurring comments highlighted the loss of dignity, despair, hunger, and the feeling of living in a "total chaos," placing the blame on the current political and economic model for the destruction of the country.
