CiberCuba achieved a historic record of 96 million views on Facebook in a single day this Saturday, driven by the coverage of the arrest of Nicolás Maduro by U.S. forces, the press conference of President Donald Trump, and the political implications for Cuba.

The traffic recorded on January 3rd far exceeded the previous high of 71 million views during Hurricane Melissa, making it the day with the highest reach in the history of the Cuban independent media.

During the day, the Cuban regime attempted to block the proxy servers that allow access to CiberCuba from the island on more than three occasions, but the attacks were immediately neutralized by the technical team of the media outlet.

"We will continue to inform, without censorship and with the commitment to tell the truth to all Cubans," stated the editorial team of CiberCuba while celebrating the new record.

The impact of the news was also reflected in a significant increase in interactions and viewing time, further establishing CiberCuba as the leading independent information source about Cuba and Cubans worldwide.

Download the CiberCuba App, the most widely used anti-censorship platform by Cubans both on and off the island, and stay informed without blocks or filters. Available here.
