CiberCuba meme about "the new Cuba" goes viral and is shared by a U.S. congressman

A meme published by CiberCuba with the message "POV: Cuba soon" has gone viral on social media and was shared by Congressman Carlos Gimene, after depicting a hypothetical island full of international investments and global brands.

The text of the meme says: “Trump's and Marco Rubio's Cuba is neither communism nor misery. It is freedom, investment, and opportunities for all Cubans.”

The image shows a map of Cuba covered with logos of the major global brands, from tech companies to automotive firms, symbolizing the economic future the country could have following the end of the communist regime.

The Cuban-American congressman Carlos Giménez shared the meme on his X account (formerly Twitter) with a message supporting the vision of a free and prosperous Cuba, which is starting to seem more attainable following the fall of Nicolás Maduro in Venezuela.

"When the inevitable happens in Cuba and the narcoterrorist dictatorship ceases to exist, there will not be a single company that doesn't want to invest in the stunning and beautiful island where I was born. As President Trump has said: the end is near for those thugs," posted the congressman.

Giménez's message—who was born in Havana and represents southern Florida in the U.S. Congress—generated thousands of reactions and comments in support of freedom for Cuba.
