Trump reveals new details about the lightning strike that ousted Maduro from a stronghold guarded by Cuban forces

"The 'safe' house was not as safe as it seemed, because our men had torches capable of cutting through steel like butter, and they did not even have to use them," Trump said.

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, revealed new technical details of the military operation carried out in Caracas to capture Nicolás Maduro, which he described as an "astonishing attack."

In an exclusive interview with FOX, Trump once again presented "Operation Absolute Resolution" as a demonstration of the country’s military superiority.

He reported that U.S. forces directly entered the center of a fortification housing thousands of soldiers and managed to extract the Venezuelan dictator without any casualties among the troops.

"There were some injuries, but no fatalities. A couple of brave helicopter pilots were seriously injured, but they are doing well," he stated.

"His house was in the middle of a fortress with thousands of soldiers, and yet we went straight to the center. Who would think that could be done without losing anyone? But everything was planned perfectly. General Raising Cain and Pete Hegseth were fantastic, Marco did a great job, the vice president too… the whole team is amazing," he emphasized.

The president provided a detailed description of the operation, led by the elite unit Delta Force.

"To enter a stronghold with thousands of soldiers, land a helicopter right in the middle, break down a steel door, because it was a fortified building, advance shooting down the hallways, and exit with the target neutralized in just three minutes," he specified.

"Nobody had seen anything like it. The 'safe' house wasn't so safe after all, because our men had torches capable of cutting through steel like it was butter. They didn’t need to use them, but they were ready," he added.

The president, who watched "in real time" the military operation from his residence in Mar-a-Lago, referred to the moment when the soldiers descended by ropes from the helicopters.

"I was thinking, 'Could I do that someday?'. They do it as if they are going down a staircase. They are on the ground in an instant, ready to act. They are the best soldiers in the world, with the best equipment in the world. No one can match us," he declared.

Trump compared this action to Operation Midnight Hammer against Iran in 2025, a mission that involved the use of B-2 bombers.

He said that, although both are equally important, the one in Venezuela "has captured the imagination of the people" due to its audacity and operational details, surpassing other previous military actions.

"This operation was similar. It has captured the imagination of people, perhaps even more than the previous ones. But I believe that all are equally important. Perhaps eliminating the nuclear threat from Iran is the most relevant, but in terms of public attention, this has been something beyond anything seen before," he noted.

The president highlighted the valor of the participating troops, describing them as "the best soldiers in the world," with "the best equipment in the world," and asserted that no force can match the military capability of the United States.

In that context, he announced that the U.S. military budget for 2027 will be increased from one trillion to 1.5 trillion dollars, considering that there are "real threats" that justify this increase.

Trump stated that the decision to carry out the operation "was not difficult" and that he had support from both Democrats and Republicans, but he asserted that no one before "had the courage" to attempt to capture Maduro.

The new details provided by Trump add to the statements he made days earlier from his residence in Mar-a-Lago, where he described the incursion as an assault "unlike any seen since World War II".

He then revealed that the "extremely complex" operation took place after being postponed for several days due to weather conditions: "We waited for the exact moment."

According to the explanation, the incursion involved dozens of airplanes, helicopters, and fighter jets, and was carried out after direct communications were established between Florida and the ground in Venezuela.

He added that his forces were prepared to launch a second military wave if necessary, but it was not needed.

He defended the operation against criticism regarding the authorization from Congress, framing it as a message directed at countries such as China, Iran, and Russia.

Trump described it as "a flawless operation" and stated that he had never witnessed anything like it before in his experience overseeing military operations.
