The Cuban actor Rodolfo Rodríguez Faxas, who has been living in Miami for over six years, spoke about his deep love for Cuba and the nostalgia he feels for his homeland.

"The energy that Cuba gives me has not been given to me by any other place yet," he expressed in an interview with "The Cuban Family".

In an emotional and sincere narrative, the artist explained that his connection to the Island is so strong that when considering a return, his decision depends solely on being able to live dignantly from his art, something that is not possible for him in Cuba today.

Born in Cojímar, Faxas fondly recalled his neighborhood and how each visit allows him to reconnect with memories of his childhood and youth.

"The feeling of a town like Cojímar. (...) Every time I go there, I walk barefoot on the rocks. It hurts a lot. And each pain brings me a laugh," he said, emphasizing the contrast between his current life in the United States and the vital energy he experiences in his homeland.

The actor recalled that in Cuba, he was able to do what he loved, achieved some success, and was happy when people recognized him on the street for his work.

Before emigrating, he stood out in Cuba for his acting work in productions such as "Dust in the Wind," where he played the leading role, and in projects like "The Black Heralds," the play "In Our Own Words," and the film "The Horn of Plenty."

Faxas revealed that he decided to leave not for economic or political reasons, but as a result of a traumatic divorce.

In the United States, he had to rebuild his life from scratch, taking on various jobs unrelated to acting, such as gardening, construction, kitchen installation, and car sales.

The distance from his country and his art led him to moments of extreme loneliness; he even confessed in "La familia cubana" that he thought about taking his own life while struggling with the uncertainty of living alone in a place as foreign as Michigan.

Nevertheless, Faxas never completely abandoned acting.

In 2024, he participated in the series "Crime in Miami" on the PRONYR TV platform, which allowed him to resume his career and reconnect with the Cuban artistic community in exile.

In the production, he participated alongside other Cuban actors and successfully maintained his presence in the audiovisual world, demonstrating resilience and passion for his craft.

Today, in addition to his artistic life, he has found economic stability alongside his wife, the model Sol Rodríguez, with whom he manages a car dealership in Miami.

However, his heart remains anchored to Cuba: "If right now, at this moment, Cuba were to change... I wouldn't think twice. I swear to you. It hurts, it hurts for everything," he stated.

The story of Rodolfo Faxas reflects the experience of many Cuban artists who have had to emigrate and reinvent themselves, yet still maintain a deep emotional bond with their country.

Between the pain of separation and the satisfaction of reconnecting with her passion, her life stands as an example of resilience, love for her culture, and commitment to her career, demonstrating that identity and creativity can endure despite distance.
