A armed robbery that occurred in the municipality of Santo Domingo, in the province of Villa Clara, has raised alarm in the community due to the violence of the incident.

According to the daughter of one of the victims, the incident occurred exactly on Wednesday, January 14, around 10:00 pm, in front of the establishment that houses the Casa de los Combatientes.

Contrary to what was initially spread on social media, it was not an assault on a woman, nor was it the theft of a vehicle loaded with suitcases. The victims were two men: his father and his uncle.

The young woman shared in a video - circulated on Facebook by the page "Nio Reporting a Crime" - that they were both returning from Santa Clara in a rental car that her uncle had rented, due to a sensitive family situation: a sick relative in that city.

Upon arriving at their grandmother's house, located across from the House of Fighters, they were intercepted by two men who had been following them in another car.

The attackers got out of the car, pointed a gun at them, and fired a shot into the air to prevent anyone from intervening, as there were people in the house and in the vicinity at that moment.

During the assault, the criminals stole a gold bracelet that the young woman's uncle was wearing and took the vehicle with all her personal documents inside. Among the stolen papers were her passport, residency card, driver's license, and other documents that the victim had in a folder.

The girl pointed out that so far the assailants have not been captured, nor have the documents been recovered.

He also reported that the dissemination of false information about the case has created confusion and affects the credibility of the websites claiming to provide news.

In his message, he called on those managing informational profiles on social media to thoroughly verify the facts before publishing them and not to repeat unconfirmed versions.

For its part, Nio Reportando un Crimen urged the community that if anyone has information that may help identify or locate the culprits, to share it privately with the platform, emphasizing that citizen cooperation can be key to advancing the investigation.

So far, there has been no official report regarding the detention of the suspects or the recovery of the stolen vehicle or documents.
