The President of the United States, Donald Trump, ignited controversy once again this Tuesday by posting on Truth Social an image generated by artificial intelligence in which he appears meeting with several European leaders in the Oval Office.
In the image, the tenant of the White House appears next to an altered map of North America and the Caribbean that shows Canada, Greenland, Cuba, and Venezuela covered with the American flag.

The photograph, which quickly went viral on social media, shows Trump sitting at his desk with emphatic gestures of explanation, while the European leaders listen attentively.
Behind it, the map displays a distorted version of the American continent in which the mentioned countries are identified with the "Old Glory" (the affectionate nickname for the American flag) as part of United States territory.
The detail raised alarms in Europe, where several media outlets described the publication as a "symbolic provocation" amid the diplomatic tension generated by Trump's renewed interest in Greenland.
The island, an autonomous territory of Denmark, had already been a subject of controversy during his first term when the leader openly proposed buying it from the Danish government.
On social media, users and analysts described the image as a symbolic message regarding Washington's projection of power on the American continent.
The inclusion of Greenland and countries like Cuba and Venezuela—currently under diplomatic pressure from the United States—has been interpreted as a political statement, a gesture with a dual message: to reaffirm U.S. leadership in the hemisphere and to send a veiled warning to European allies about Washington's new geopolitical direction.
Analysts agree that Trump aims to project strength and control at a time when the United States is taking a central role in the power transition in Venezuela and maintaining a policy of pressure against the dictatorial regimes of Cuba and Nicaragua.
