President Donald Trump attended the college football national championship game between Miami and Indiana this Monday, held at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
During the interpretation of the United States national anthem, the crowd erupted in applause when the cameras showed the president on the stadium screens.
Also present at the coliseum was Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who was seen talking with Trump and accompanied by Secret Service personnel before the start of the meeting.
Media and reporters present at the stadium highlighted the atmosphere of excitement, the greetings from the president, and the presence of both Republican leaders at one of the most anticipated sporting events of the year.
The meeting also has a special significance for the Cuban-American community: the coach from Miami, Mario Cristóbal, and the quarterback from Indiana, Fernando Mendoza, are descendants of exiled Cuban families, a detail that added pride and excitement to the final held in South Florida.
