Four Cuban citizens with serious criminal records, including homicides and other violent crimes, were arrested in South Florida by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and other federal agencies, and they will be deported from the United States.

ICE announced this Tuesday the capture, between January 9 and 12, of the undocumented immigrants Nelson Vladimir González del Pino Rodríguez, Camilo Argüelles Mendoza, Yuri Estévez, and Iván Hernández Montes, all originally from Cuba, whom they described as “atrocious” illegal foreign criminals in the state of Florida.

They face, collectively, charges of murder, aggravated assault on law enforcement officers, carrying a concealed weapon, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI), and robbery, the official statement indicated.

González del Pino has been sentenced for second-degree murder, multiple aggravated assaults against law enforcement officers, repeated resistance to arrest - both with and without violence -, escape from custody, and several charges for driving under the influence of alcohol.

He served significant prison sentences, including a 10-year sentence for murder and aggravated assault against a police officer. ICE and the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) arrested him in the city of Hialeah on the 12th.

Argüelles' violent criminal record earned him multiple sentences: 20 years in prison for homicide—a serious offense; 15 years each for theft and fraud; and five years each for assault and resisting an officer.

ICE, HSI (Homeland Security Investigations), and the DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) arrested him in Miami on January 12 as well.

On that same day, ICE agents arrested Estévez in the city of Hollywood. This Cuban has been convicted of homicide, premeditated attempted murder, and carrying a concealed weapon. Authorities warned that all of his offenses are serious and involve violence or weapons.

According to the statement, he served at least three years in prison for attempted murder and weapons charges.

Hernández was arrested and taken into custody by ICE on January 9. His record includes aggravated assault on a police officer and property crimes such as vehicle theft, burglary, and possession of burglary tools.

Additionally, he committed a wide range of crimes involving escape, resisting arrest, and using false identification, as well as additional charges related to violence, theft, and obstruction.

The four detainees will remain in the custody of ICE until they are deported from the U.S., authorities warned.

The identification and arrest of the Cubans involved agents from ERO (Enforcement and Removal Operations) and HSI from ICE, joined by officers from the DEA and ATF.
