The Cuban content creator known as @Whiteshark_i220a shared on his social media a video in which he recounts a tense episode that happened in front of his home, when he unexpectedly encountered agents from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
According to the explanation, it all began when he went out early to walk his dog and noticed that an unknown vehicle, a Chevrolet SUV with tinted windows, was blocking the exit of his garage.
As he approached and asked the driver to move so that his wife could pull out the car, the occupant rolled down the window and identified himself by showing a gold badge and a vest with the inscription “Police ICE”.
The Cuban explained that he felt a terrible fear, but he behaved naturally. "He showed me a photo of a man and told me they were looking for that person, but I told him I didn't know him. I know he's a neighbor, but I don't even know where he lives,” he recounted.
Whiteshark has a I-220A immigration permit, a temporary document that grants supervised freedom to asylum seekers in the U.S. The anecdote happened nearly a year ago, but he shared the video again with his followers.
The video has amassed over 300,000 views and has received numerous messages of support for Cubans with I-220A across various social media platforms.
