A Cuban who has just arrived in the United States from Cuba shared a video on TikTok in which she recounts her experience with Immigration and takes the opportunity to offer an important piece of advice to those traveling from the island.
"I just got out of Immigration. For those who wanted to know, they didn't ask me anything, they didn't check anything. They only asked why I went to Cuba, how many days I stayed, and that was all," the young woman explained from the U.S. airport.
The Cuban, identified on TikTok as @saylinpazos, assured that the process was quick and smooth, and urged other travelers to let go of their fears: “So let go of the fear,” she said in her recorded message.
However, he took the opportunity to warn those arriving from Cuba about the importance of taking care of their travel documents. "I'm going to give you a piece of advice: take care of your documents. A gentleman just lost his residency during the flight from Cuba to here, and now we'll see what happens," he recounted.
The video, which quickly went viral, sparked dozens of comments from other Cubans who are planning to travel to the United States soon or who have already gone through similar processes. Many expressed their gratitude for the warning and agreed on the need to take extra precautions with immigration paperwork during the flight.
In recent months, thousands of Cubans continue to arrive in the United States through legal and humanitarian channels, while others opt for irregular routes. Experiences like Saylin's serve as a guide for those facing the immigration process for the first time upon entering the country.
