The Cuban creator Yoanita (@yoanita1999) went viral on TikTok after elegantly —and with a bit of spice— responding to a comment that tried to mock her for speaking about the freedom of Cuba and Venezuela.

It all started when a user wrote to her: “So when are you going to Venezuela? They are free now, they are going to become millionaires.” Instead of ignoring it, she chose to respond on camera: “I don’t usually do this, it’s the first time I’m doing it, but today I’m going to give you a minute of fame with the three followers I have. The day we are free, we will indeed be millionaires, so you can stop suffering from hate with admiration.”

She then proudly clarified: “I’m not going to Venezuela, I’m going to Cuba, because I’m not Venezuelan, I’m Cuban. The thing is, we are two nations with the same pain, that’s why we support each other.” Her response, straightforward yet respectful, quickly began to circulate on social media, where many praised her way of speaking “from the heart and without offending.”

The comments came quickly: “I hope we are free soon,” wrote one user; “Cuba will soon be free, they have a brave people,” commented another. Hundreds of messages agreed in celebrating the unity between Cubans and Venezuelans that the video reflected.

“So that's how it's spoken,” “Good response,” “We are one feeling,” were some of the most repeated phrases. Unintentionally, Yoanita turned her response into a message of pride, empathy, and hope for thousands of people dreaming of seeing their countries free.
