A young Cuban mother living in Miami has gone viral on TikTok after sharing a video in which she responds to the criticism she received for taking her daughter to daycare. Her story has sparked a wave of empathy among other women who, like her, are trying to balance motherhood with the need to move forward in a new country.

Rosabel, known on social media as @rosabelyvalentina2, shared that a follower questioned her about sending her little one to daycare. “She told me that I probably did it because I'm young,” the Cuban explained. However, rather than ignoring the comment, she chose to respond honestly: “No, my love. The time I cherish most is the time I spend with my daughter. There's no moment I prefer more than being with her.”

In her testimony, Rosabel recounted that she made the decision after going through a difficult postpartum period. "I was too stuck at home, feeling like I was fading away little by little. I understood that to be a good mom, I needed to be well with myself," she confessed. With that clarity, she decided that her daughter, who is just over a year old, would start daycare: "It hurt me a lot, but I also want to grow as a woman, feel productive, and be able to respond when my daughter needs me."

The video, recorded in a calm yet firm tone, was filled with supportive messages. “Only a mother knows what she does out of love,” commented one user. “Daycare doesn’t make you less of a mother; it makes you stronger,” wrote another. Many messages highlighted her maturity and the way she spoke without adopting a victim mentality. “You spoke for many of us,” dozens of mothers told her.

“I am young, but I believe I am an excellent mother,” Rosabel concluded in her video, which has already garnered thousands of views. Her message, sincere and unfiltered, has sparked a conversation about real motherhood, postpartum mental health, and the pressures faced by migrant women. Because, as she herself stated, “Those who want to judge can judge. But the one who is here, giving it everything every day, is me.”
