The family of a Cuban resident in Mulgoba, a neighborhood in the Boyeros municipality of Havana, is experiencing days of anguish after his disappearance nearly a week ago.
The complaint was made by user Yadeli Moreno in the Facebook group "Missing or Lost Persons in Havana".
According to what he said, the man, whose name he did not give, is the uncle of his daughter-in-law and has been absent from his home since last Thursday.
"The family is desperate, it is a sick person. Please share so that they can be found as soon as possible," she pleaded.
Moreno shared a telephone number to call if anyone has any information: 58414738.
The post does not provide information about the missing person, nor does it specify whether a report was filed with the police.
This case reflects a broader reality that affects many families in Cuba.
When a person goes missing, relatives often find themselves almost alone in the search. Without effective mechanisms or clear answers from the authorities, the burden falls almost entirely on those who endure the absence.
Many families are compelled to turn to social media as their main tool, appealing to public solidarity in an attempt to locate their loved ones.
Facebook, WhatsApp, independent media, and support from ordinary citizens are beginning to replace what should be a sustained institutional effort.
There, they publish photos, personal information, and contact numbers, hoping that someone, either on the street or online, will provide a lead that the authorities have not been able to obtain.
