Congressman Carlos Giménez issues a warning to the regime and an invitation to the Cuban people

The Cuban-American congressman, Carlos Giménez, issued a stern warning to the Cuban regime on Monday, informing them that repression against any potential new protests on the island will not be tolerated under the leadership of President Donald Trump.

#SOSCuba President Trump will not tolerate the repression of the regime in #Cuba as the pathetic administration of Joe Biden did in 2021,” he wrote.

"Another rooster will sing when our brothers on the island take to the streets as they did on that historic July 11th. Homeland and Life!”, he added.

With his words, Giménez has directly urged the Cuban people to mobilize as they did during the uprising of July 11, 2021.

His message combines a call to action with the promise of strong support from the United States, in contrast to what he sees as the Biden administration's passivity during the historic protests.

Campaign to cancel commercial flights: “We cannot legitimize the dictatorship”

In early February, Giménez also spoke forcefully against commercial air operations between the United States and Cuba, believing that they pose a direct threat to national security.

In letters sent to the executive directors of airlines such as American Airlines and Delta, the lawmaker urged the cancellation of flights to and from the island.

He explained that such operations "financially support a dictatorship allied with adversaries of the United States."

In his letter, he cited the executive order issued by Donald Trump that declares a national emergency in response to the "unusual and extraordinary threat" posed by the Cuban regime.

The congressman warned that allowing commercial flights to the island not only provides hard currency revenue to the regime but also contradicts decades of bipartisan policy in the U.S. in support of the Cuban people.

"It's time to strangle the regime": Economic and diplomatic offensive

In statements to Fox News, the lawmaker strengthened his support for Donald Trump's policies against the allies of Castroism.

He applauded, among other measures, the new 100% tariffs on countries that export oil to the island—such as Mexico and Venezuela—and urged to increase pressure until the Cuban government is pushed to the brink of collapse.

With an aggressive and uncompromising rhetoric, Giménez insisted that Cuba needs a "shock treatment" that results in a system change.

For the congressman, the political moment is favorable: he asserts that the regime is at its weakest point since 1959, lacking solid economic support and experiencing a growing loss of international legitimacy.

The legislator, born in Havana and president of the Subcommittee on Transportation and Maritime Security, has repeatedly stated that his priority is to protect the national security of the U.S. and support the Cuban people in their fight against authoritarianism. His vision for the future of the island is clear:

"After more than six decades of oppression, the end of castrismo is closer than ever."
