A young Cuban denounced the repression against members of the El4tico project and issued a direct message to the Police and the regime officials.
The user Ray Figueredo posted his video on Facebook. He does not confront the agents physically, but speaks to them firmly and asks them to correct their repressive stance and support Cubans in their quest for political change in the country.
"You obey a system that does not guarantee the health of the people, nor dignified education, transportation, energy, justice, freedom, food, or happiness," he asserts. His message challenges the political model and holds the law enforcement agencies accountable for maintaining it.
It also demands that young people be allowed to associate freely, independent of the Union of Young Communists (UJC). It calls for respect for children in Cuba and an end to the precarious conditions affecting thousands of families.
The young man warns the police that change in the country must come and that they will have to take a stand. He addresses the regime and denounces the persecution of those who think differently.
"I am not asking you to give up your ideals. Just stand at the entrance of your homes, look to the right and to the left, and describe to yourselves what you see. What do you see happening in Cuba?" he expressed.
More and more young Cubans are using social media to denounce repression and make it clear that they are not afraid of the government of Miguel Díaz-Canel.
