A Cuban resident in Lehigh Acres, Florida, sparked a wave of laughter on TikTok after sharing a video that, according to many, looked like a scene taken directly from any town in Cuba: a man traveling down the street in a horse-drawn carriage right in the middle of a residential neighborhood.

The recording shows the carriage moving along normally in front of typical houses in southern Florida, with well-kept lawns and modern cars parked in the driveways. The contrast was enough for the clip to go viral and generate hundreds of comments.

Most reactions were marked by humor. Dozens of users simply left laughter, while others wrote phrases like "This can't be true," "This is too much," "I thought I was in Cuba," and "The landscapes got mixed up."

Some appealed to nostalgia and released the now-classic phrase: “One leaves Cuba, but Cuba never leaves you.” Others commented, “Lehigh Acres is already Camagüey,” “That’s eco-friendly transportation,” “We’re missing the town crier in the back,” and “I bet they come with a loudspeaker selling something.”

There were also those who asked curiously, "Is that legal?", "Where in Florida is that?", "Is it a show or is it normal there?". And there was no shortage of cheeky comments: "Invite me to lunch, I'll be there in the car."

However, amidst all the laughter, some voices emerged trying to provide context. Some pointed out that horse-drawn carriages exist in many rural areas of the United States and that not everything has to relate to Cuba. "That has nothing to do with Cuba; it's used in many places," wrote a user.

Amid comparisons, jokes, and small debates, the video ultimately became another viral phenomenon that demonstrates how any unexpected scene can activate the collective sense of humor among Cubans, especially when it resonates with themes of identity and memory.

Because if one thing was clear in the comments, it is that wherever there is a detail that recalls the island, there will always be someone eager to turn it into a topic of conversation.
