A group of motorbike friends staged an emotional marriage proposal on a beach in Cuba, in a surprise that was captured on video and has gone viral on social media.
According to one of the participants, the idea came up without much planning and right on February 14th. “Today we are going to help a friend propose to his girlfriend, and they don’t even know. Right in the middle of Valentine's Day and with no planning at all, we decided to make it a friendly plan so she would never suspect, using up the little gas we had,” he recounted.
To avoid suspicion, the friends arranged a gathering at a house by the beach and brought their respective partners. While the women played dominoes, someone announced that the motorcycles had fallen over and needed help.
Upon exiting, the young woman encountered an unexpected scene: the motorcycles were running, their lights illuminating the area, and her partner was surrounded by a group of friends. In the midst of the makeshift setting, the young man knelt down, handed her a ring, and presented her with a bouquet of flowers.
The response was a resounding "yes." Amid applause, hugs, and evident excitement, the couple sealed the moment surrounded by friends who didn't hesitate to "spend the little gas" to accompany them on one of the most important days of their lives.
The video has generated numerous reactions on social media, where many users have highlighted the creativity, the group's camaraderie, and the symbolic value of the gesture amid the daily challenges that Cubans face.
