Cuban opposition figure Yunisley Suárez Rodríguez reported on social media that she was threatened by State Security after a poster appeared in her home with the message: "We are watching you."
In a Facebook post, Suárez issued a direct warning: “State Security, make sure nothing happens to my family. Make sure. BE CAREFUL WITH TOUCHING MY CHILDREN.”
The activist explained in a video that the intimidating message was placed in the living room of her home, which raised her concerns about the safety of her children.
Suárez recalled that her husband is a former political prisoner and that she is an opposition member. She is well-known in her community, in Villa Clara. She stated that she has nothing to hide and feels no fear, but she publicly held the authorities responsible for any harm to her family.
Background of their complaints
In December 2025, the mother from Villa Clara went viral after denouncing the prolonged blackouts affecting the country.
On that occasion, he stated that as long as there was no electricity, his children would not attend school. He also criticized the school indoctrination and the situation of scarcity that, as he expressed, prevents children from sleeping and being properly nourished.
Her stance generated hundreds of supportive reactions on Facebook. Many mothers expressed that they identified with her decision not to send their children to school amid power outages and food shortages.
So far, the authorities have not made any public statements regarding the threat report. The situation once again highlights the atmosphere of pressure faced by activists and opponents within Cuba.
