Florida reaffirmed its leadership in tourism by placing four of its beaches among the top 10 in the United States in the ranking Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best Beaches 2026, compiled by Tripadvisor based on millions of verified traveler reviews.
The ranking, based on published opinions between November 2024 and December 2025, places Florida destinations in the 2nd, 6th, 8th, and 10th positions on the national list, a dominant presence matched only by Hawaii, which also has four spots.
The first place in the United States was awarded to La Jolla Cove beach in California, known for its unusual marine biodiversity. However, Florida and Hawaii dominate the next positions, reinforcing their coastal supremacy.
The Floridian beaches that rank among the top 10 in the country are: Clearwater Beach (No. 2), a highlight of the Gulf Coast, famous for its white sand, turquoise waters, and excellent tourism infrastructure; Siesta Beach (No. 6), known for its ultra-fine quartz sands, which took first place in Tripadvisor's 2025 ranking for the United States; St. Andrews State Park (No. 8), a destination that combines beach and protected nature, offering hiking, kayaking, and wildlife observation options; and Honeymoon Island State Park (No. 10), a natural setting distinguished by its tranquility, coastal trails, and pristine landscapes overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.
The Tripadvisor ranking is calculated based on the quality and quantity of reviews posted by users over a 12-month period. According to the platform itself, the ranking exclusively reflects the direct experience of travelers, without editorial intervention.
Among the factors most appreciated by visitors are: the beauty of the landscape and water quality, safety and tourist infrastructure, accessibility and family services, and a variety of recreational activities.
The recognition comes at a strategic moment, just as Spring Break and the summer season approach, when millions of travelers start planning their getaways. It also serves as an incentive following a very intense winter season.
In 2025, Florida had managed to place three of its beaches in the Top 10 in the U.S. on Tripadvisor; and according to the assessment of geoscientist and coastal ecologist Stephen P. Leatherman, known as Dr. Beach, the state also ranked three destinations among the best in the country in 2024.
It now consolidates its position as the epicenter of American sun and beach tourism.
