Authorities in Sancti Spíritus have confirmed that the skeletal remains found on Tuesday in a shelter across from the Arcelio Suárez Bernal elementary school, in the Los Olivos Popular Council (Olivos II area), do not belong to human remains.
The information, shared on through the page of Radio Sancti Spíritus, was provided by journalist Yosdany Morejón Ortega and confirmed by specialist Nairobis Puig González from the Legal Medicine Department of the area.
According to the official, the initial review determined that the bones belong to an unidentified animal.
Ongoing investigation
Authorities continue to investigate to determine the exact species and clarify the circumstances under which the remains ended up near the school area.
