Not even the Canadian winter stopped him: this is how he roasted his pig "Cuban style."

Neither the cold nor the snow could halt one of the most deeply rooted traditions of Cubans: the roast pig. A video posted on TikTok by the user @pedropablocarmena shows how a Cuban in Canada decided to prepare a roast pig "Cuban style" in the middle of winter, surrounded by snow.

The images show the pig placed on an improvised roasting rack under a covered structure, while the fire burns fiercely despite the low temperatures. The contrast between the snow piled outside and the flames ignited to cook the pig has caught significant attention on social media.

The video itself includes the text: "Cuban style in Canada," a phrase that captures the spirit of many emigrants who, even far from the Island, keep their culinary traditions alive.

The scene reflects not only a passion for traditional food but also the ingenuity to adapt to extreme weather conditions. The grill, set in the midst of a completely snowy environment, demonstrates that for many Cubans, there is no weather that can deter them from celebrating with a good roast pork, a typical dish for special occasions and family gatherings.

In the comments section, numerous users —mostly Cubans— reacted enthusiastically. Several admitted that their mouths watered at the sight of the pig roasting over the fire, while others congratulated the author for keeping the tradition alive and for the ingenuity displayed in achieving the roast in such cold conditions.

The video has become yet another example of how Cuban cultural identity transcends borders. From Miami to Canada, the smell of charcoal and the crispy leather of roasted pork remain synonymous with celebration, community, and nostalgia.
