Violence has struck close to Yomil Hidalgo once again. The Cuban reggaeton artist is going through another difficult time following the violent death of a close friend in Cuba, known as “El Tresto,” a loss that has shaken his inner circle and the neighborhood of Cayo Hueso in Centro Habana.
“Another day that has become one of the worst of my life; if you have a true and loyal friend, take care of them because I'm going to miss mine so much”, the artist wrote on his social media. The statement, direct and heart-wrenching, confirms the depth of the emotional blow he is experiencing.
In other posts, Yomil expressed even more of his pain. He remembered his friend's loyalty and described him as someone essential in his life. "I love you so much, my little brother," he stated in one of the most intimate messages, making it clear that this was not just a casual friendship, but a bond built since the beginnings of his career.
He also shared that the loss leaves him with a feeling of emptiness that is hard to explain, and he urged his followers to appreciate true friends while they are still present. His words reflect not only sadness but also a mix of disbelief and exhaustion in the face of yet another unexpected farewell.
The pain, however, did not stop his professional commitment. Before starting his concert this weekend in Havana, he dedicated the night to his deceased friend. “I have just lost a brother, right now he is being mourned at a funeral home, but we are like clowns who have to keep going, and you all deserve the best tonight,” he expressed before beginning the show.
The death of “El Tresto” reopens deep wounds in Yomil's life, who in 2020 had already faced the loss of El Dany. Now, as Key West remains in shock and questions about what happened linger, the artist must once again bear the weight of an absence that irreversibly marks his personal history.
