The President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated that his administration is working to transform the situation in Cuba and to allow many Cubans who emigrated to return to the island in the future.

During recent statements, the leader affirmed that what is happening in Cuba is "incredible" and expressed his intention to resolve the country's situation, suggesting that a change could occur in relatively short order.

"What is happening with Cuba is incredible... we believe we want to fix that. It will only be a matter of time before a lot of amazing people return to Cuba," Trump said from the White House, where he welcomed Inter Miami and soccer star Lionel Messi on Thursday.

The president also mentioned that many Cubans living abroad maintain a strong connection to their homeland and that some may choose to return if conditions change.

"I hear all the time how much they love Cuba. We want them to have that opportunity," he stated.

The statements come amid the economic and energy crisis the island is experiencing, which Trump has described as a “failed nation” that could soon collapse, as he has indicated in other public remarks.

Trump also commented on the situation in Venezuela, stating that the country has "stabilized" and praised the work of interim president Delcy Rodríguez in cooperation with Washington.

According to the president, the South American country has begun to produce and refine large quantities of oil again, which, he stated, will generate revenues that will exceed those from previous years.

In recent weeks, Trump has also mentioned that his administration is engaged in discussions related to Cuba and that thousands of Cubans who left the island might have the option to return voluntarily in the future.

The statements are part of the White House's discourse on a potential political change on the island, amid the economic and diplomatic pressure from Washington on the Cuban regime.
