The Cuban-American congresswoman María Elvira Salazar stated that Cuba should become the next target in the international strategy against authoritarian regimes, following recent actions against Iran.

In a message posted on X, the legislator stated that she had already expressed this stance during a television interview. "Yesterday on Bloomberg TV I made it clear: after Iran, the next must be Cuba. Cuba is the cradle of evil," she wrote.

Salazar argued that the Cuban dictatorship has been a reference point for other authoritarian governments for decades in terms of political control and repression.

According to him, "the Castro regime wrote the manual on repression and how to cling to power at all costs."

The Republican Party asserted that the internal situation on the Island reflects a deep deterioration caused by the political system itself. "Now the regime is collapsing under its own failures, leaving millions of people in darkness and despair," they said.

Salazar linked this circumstance to the foreign policy advocated by President Donald Trump and his offensive against dictatorial governments.

"President Trump is dismantling the worst dictatorships in the world," he stated, before issuing a direct warning to the Cuban government: "Havana has been warned."

The legislator's statements come amid an international climate that, as she has noted in recent messages, reflects a significant shift in the global political balance against authoritarian regimes.

Recently, Salazar stated that following the fall of Nicolás Maduro's government and the actions against the Iranian regime, the case of Cuba could become the next chapter in what she described as the end of impunity for authoritarian governments.

In that context, the congresswoman stated that the foreign policy of the Trump administration has restored the strength of the United States on the global stage. She claimed that dictators who once seemed untouchable are now facing a new environment of international pressure.

The legislator celebrated that Maduro has been brought to justice and that the regime of the ayatollahs in Iran has been humiliated, noting that these events mark the beginning of a new phase. "The days of impunity are over, and the era of accountability has begun."

Salazar also recalled that the Cuban people have lived for decades under a system of political repression, imprisonment of opponents, and forced exile of millions of citizens. He emphasized that this historical cycle is coming to an end: "Cuba is next."

His statements come at a time of strong diplomatic and economic pressure from Washington on several authoritarian governments, while Secretary of State Marco Rubio maintains a firm stance against the Cuban regime.

In recent weeks, Republican legislators from Florida have intensified their calls to promote change on the Island, particularly following an armed confrontation off the Cuban coast in which four men from Florida were killed by gunfire from the Coast Guard.

That incident provoked a wave of reactions among politicians from the state with the highest concentration of Cuban-Americans in the United States, increasing political tension between Washington and Havana.

At the end of February, Salazar also reacted to President Trump's statements about the future of Cuba and asserted that the Island's government is going through a critical moment.

He recalled that the Castro regime has "tortured dissidents, imprisoned pastors, beaten peaceful demonstrators, and stolen the future of generations of Cuban children."

The congresswoman added that the current difficulties faced by the Cuban government are not due to external pressures, but rather to the internal decay of the system itself. "Tyranny always collapses under the weight of its own cruelty," she expressed.

He also expressed his gratitude that the international pressure driven by Trump is accelerating change. In a message directed straight at the Cuban government, he issued another warning: "Read the writing on the wall. Your time is up."
