A Cuban was forcefully removed from a concert by the duo Buena Fe held on Friday, March 6, in Madrid, after shouting slogans against the regime and demanding the release of political prisoners in Cuba.
The incident was recorded in several videos shared on social media and has sparked reactions among Cuban exile activists.
The images shared by various users show the moment when several attendees surround the protester inside the auditorium and forcibly remove him while he continues shouting “Down with the dictatorship” and “Freedom for political prisoners.”
According to testimonies shared on social media, some of the individuals involved in the expulsion allegedly tried to take his mobile phone while he was recording the scene.
The concert took place at the Marcelino Camacho Auditorium of the Comisiones Obreras union in Madrid, as part of the show "Songs with Spice and Good Faith," where the Cuban duo shares the stage with the poet and improvisational artist Alexis Díaz Pimienta.
Outside the venue, according to videos and posts shared on social media, the police prevented other Cubans from accessing the area who intended to protest against the group's actions. Exiled activists had previously called for a protest and a boycott of the concert.
Calls circulated on social media urging people to prevent ticket sales revenue, as reported by some opposition members, from indirectly benefiting the Cuban regime.
Buena Fe, composed of Israel Rojas and Yoel Martínez, has been surrounded by controversy in various countries due to its closeness to the Cuban government. Exile activists claim that the group has publicly defended the regime in Havana and refrains from condemning the repression against opposition figures and political prisoners.
The duo's performances in Spain have sparked tensions on other occasions. In recent years, concerts in cities like Madrid and Barcelona have been accompanied by protests from Cubans demanding freedom on the island and denouncing the repression of the regime.
