The Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado held a second meeting in the White House with the President of the United States, Donald Trump, in recent hours, according to exclusive information released by Caracol Radio, based on sources from the presidential residence itself.

The meeting also included Secretary of State Marco Rubio and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.

According to this report, the meeting was confidential and served for Machado to directly present his proposals regarding the political roadmap for Venezuela.

According to the sources cited by the Colombian media, the conversation addressed plans for political transition and the eventual call for elections in the South American country.

"Be cautious," they ask

The information adds that Machado has maintained an intense diplomatic agenda in Washington in recent weeks with the aim of promoting an electoral process that contributes to legitimizing a new democratic order in Venezuela.

However, the U.S. administration conveyed a message of caution.

According to Caracol Radio, Washington deems it essential to prioritize political stabilization first and allow room for maneuver for the regime that still controls part of the state apparatus before moving forward with an electoral call.

This assessment, attributed to sources consulted by the outlet, suggests that the White House does not currently foresee an immediate acceleration of the Venezuelan political timeline, despite Machado's efforts.

The report also indicates that Machado has been summoned again to the White House in two or three weeks, which would suggest the continuation of these contacts at the highest level.

The news comes days after Donald Trump praised Venezuela's interim president, Delcy Rodríguez, and highlighted the cooperation between both countries in the energy sector, stating that Venezuela's oil "is starting to flow."

The statement was published by the president himself on his social media platform, Truth Social, where he positively evaluated the work of the Venezuelan government and the discussions with U.S. representatives.

"Delcy Rodríguez, who is the president of Venezuela, is doing a great job and working very well with the representatives of the United States," Trump wrote in the message.

The president also noted that Venezuelan oil is "starting to flow" again and described the professional relationship that has been established between both countries as positive.
