A post from the Tank Division of the Ministry of Revolutionary Armed Forces (MINFAR) featuring the official troubadour Raúl Torres atop a military tank ignited a wave of mockery and ironic comments on social media.
The military profile itself accompanied on Facebook the images with a text full of epicness, in which it asserted that the artist “got on one of our armored vehicles, feeling firsthand the power of steel and the heartbeat of the soul that resides within it.”
The publication described the moment as a union between art and the country's military defense, stating that the tank represents “the shield that protects Cuba's dreams” and expressing gratitude to the musician for “singing to the soldier.”
However, the scene quickly became the subject of jokes among users of Facebook, who responded with sarcastic comments.
"The meme of the day," wrote Marilin Fonseca, while Yairis Fontes commented that she initially thought the image was a joke: "I thought it was a meme."
Other users also joked about the scene. Yoel Hernández remarked that "if he fires his songs, that tank is unstoppable and lethal," while Eduardo Tito García Moreno teased that the artist could "threaten to sing them a song if the enemy comes in."
The critics also targeted the singer himself. Ricardo Garriga stated, "I think he would do better as a soldier because he's not a singer," while Yoan Díaz wrote that the musician "acts like he sings."
Other comments appealed directly to humor. Feliciano Flores remarked that the scene reminded him of "the adventure of Four tankers and a dog," while Juan Eugenio Cabrera Fagundo joked that the troubadour might end up singing "and the turret took off flying."
Amid jokes and sarcasm, the image ended up circulating widely on social media, becoming for many users one of the memes of the day.
