The Miami International Airport (MIA) inaugurated the first Wait n’ Rest relaxation suites in North America this Tuesday, a new service that allows travelers to sleep, shower, or relax in private suites while waiting for their next flight.

The opening was celebrated with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony led by authorities from Miami-Dade County and airport executives, according to the information page of the Airport.

The new facilities are located within Concourse D and feature 15 rest rooms designed to accommodate between one and four people, according to the information.

Each suite offers beds with hotel-quality linens, touch screens with information and entertainment, as well as access to private showers, bathrooms, clean towels, and a selection of beverages and snacks.

The service can be booked by the hour, with stays ranging from 60 minutes to a maximum of eight hours. Prices start at $40 for one hour for a guest, while the overnight package of eight hours begins at $200.

The concept Wait n’ Rest aims to provide passengers with a peaceful space away from the hustle and bustle of the airport, especially for those dealing with long layovers, intercontinental journeys, or work shifts between flights.

“Thanks to Wait n’ Rest, finding a comfortable and convenient place to refresh, rest, and recharge while traveling through Miami Airport will be much easier,” stated the mayor of Miami-Dade County, Daniella Levine Cava, during the inauguration.

The founder and CEO of the company, Duilio Sanguineti, explained that the project is part of a new global trend in which airports seek to transform into lifestyle spaces, offering more comfort, privacy, and services for travelers.

According to airport authorities, a second location of Wait n’ Rest will open this summer in Concourse H of MIA, expanding rest options for passengers in transit.

The opening of these suites is part of the recent improvements in the passenger experience at Miami Airport, which in 2025 was recognized by several platforms and specialized publications as one of the best airports in the United States for business travelers, layovers, and culinary offerings.
