Cuba will begin daylight saving time on Sunday, March 8, so clocks should be set forward one hour, according to the Ministry of Energy and Mines.

The measure implies that at 12:00 midnight the clocks should be set forward to 1:00 a.m., with the aim of better utilizing sunlight during daily activities.

"Tomorrow, Sunday, March 8, the clocks will be set forward one hour. Daylight saving time begins in Cuba. This allows for greater use of daylight in daily activities," the ministry stated in a message posted on social media.

With this change, Cuba returns to what is known as daylight saving time, which is maintained for several months of the year to extend the hours of natural daylight in the afternoon.

The time change will also take effect this Sunday in the United States, including the state of Florida, where the city of Miami is located.

In that country, daylight saving time will also begin on March 8, when the clocks will move forward one hour at 2:00 AM.

This means that the time difference between Cuba and Miami will remain the same, as both locations move their clocks forward on the same date.
