The United States military destroyed several Iranian military aircraft in recent attacks, according to images released by the United States Central Command (CENTCOM), amid the ongoing conflict with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In a video released on Wednesday on the social network X, CENTCOM showed the moment Iranian aircraft on the ground were struck by U.S. airstrikes. The footage reveals direct explosions on the aircraft, which were apparently located at airfields or military facilities.

"The Iranian regime is losing air capacity day by day," stated the U.S. military command in its publication. According to the agency, U.S. forces are not only responding to threats from Iran but are also "methodically dismantling" its military infrastructure.

According to Fox News, CENTCOM also denied the claims of a leader from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), who asserted that Iran had shot down a U.S. F-15 fighter jet south of Tehran.

"False. No U.S. fighter jet has been shot down by Iran," the military command responded in another message. "U.S. forces continue to maintain air superiority over vast areas of Iran."

According to a recently published analysis by The Wall Street Journal, one of Iran's weaknesses in the current conflict is the aging of much of its air fleet. While the United States and Israel operate state-of-the-art aircraft like the F-35, many of Iran's planes date back several decades.

Due to this limitation, Tehran has largely relied on its ballistic missile and drone program as its primary military tool, although these capabilities have also been targets of American and Israeli attacks.

In early March, CENTCOM itself reported that three U.S. F-15E Strike Eagle fighters were accidentally shot down by Kuwait's air defense systems during a combat operation. The six crew members managed to eject and were rescued without sustaining serious injuries.
