A young Cuban shared on TikTok her experience searching for housing in Havana and revealed the high prices currently faced by those needing to rent in the capital.

In the video posted by user Zol Arias, the creator explains that she lives in Havana and that it is becoming increasingly difficult for Cubans to find rental housing, due to the scarcity of available options and the constant rise in prices. She also mentions that the transportation situation has worsened because of the fuel shortage.

According to the explanation, the search began on the internet. After reviewing several options and selecting a few, he decided to visit them in person to verify their condition.

Finally, she chose an apartment on the fifth floor and moved in that same afternoon. In the video, she shows the mess in the place after moving all her belongings and remarks that moving is always an exhausting process.

"Moving is crazy," he says as he points to the boxes and items still unorganized inside the apartment.

The young woman explains that on that first night, she could only arrange the clothes in the closet because it was already very late and she was very tired. The next day, she had to get up to thoroughly clean the place and get everything organized.

One of the most striking aspects of the video is the price of rentals in Havana. According to the account, all the apartments he visited cost 100 dollars per month or more.

The one that was finally rented costs 140 dollars a month, a high figure for many Cubans considering that state salaries on the island remain very low.

The testimony reflects the increasing difficulties many citizens face in finding rental housing in the capital, amid the economic crisis the country is experiencing and the scarcity of available options.
