You won't believe it: they have Fidel Castro dancing to reggaeton with AI, and it goes viral

A video generated with artificial intelligence showing Fidel Castro dancing has gone viral on TikTok, sparking divided reactions among users.

The clip, published by the account @repa.lyrics, features the late Cuban leader dressed in his signature olive green uniform as he dances to the rhythm of “Tienes Remix”, by artists Ya Ice Dilan, Rey Tony, and Elabusador.

The images, clearly manipulated using AI tools, portray a hyper-realistic version of the former president moving within a domestic setting, which has sparked both humor and criticism on social media.

Some users have reacted with irony to the contrast between the historical figure of the leader of the Cuban regime and the urban genre of the distribution, while others question the use of artificial intelligence to recreate deceased political figures.

The video adds to a growing trend on social media where AI is used to create viral content that blends pop culture, urban music, and historical figures, often for humorous purposes.

In the Cuban case, reparto —a subgenre of reggaeton with strong roots in popular neighborhoods— continues to gain prominence both on and off the island, even in content that appeals to political satire.
