Sandro Castro once again sparked controversy on social media after mocking the solidarity convoy from Mexico that recently arrived in Cuba, amid the crisis the country is experiencing.
Fidel Castro's grandson shared a story on Instagram where he humorously commented on the condition of the vessel, implicitly describing it as deteriorated, and stated that he could "donate" paint to enhance its appearance.

In another post, he shared an image of the ship with a message in which, despite acknowledging the gesture of help, he continued to make sarcastic remarks: “The makeup and clothes don’t matter; what counts is the attitude… heartfelt thanks for the solidarity gesture of helping Cuba… it’s impossible not to poke a little fun at the ship when something good happens.”
The vessel, referred to by regime-affiliated sectors as "Granma 2," was transporting members of the convoy "Nuestra América," a group of activists and organizations close to the government that have brought supplies to the island.
Sandro Castro's posts are a mockery of the initiative, in contrast to the official discourse that highlights international solidarity amid the shortages of food, medicine, and fuel.
Sandro Castro, living up to his surname, once again does not hesitate to mock everything on social media, an attitude that it would be hard for another young Cuban to adopt without facing legal consequences or sanctions.
