The Cuban TikToker Massiel Trimiño (@massiemtrimio) posted a new video on TikTok this Tuesday showcasing the progress of the renovation of her house in Cuba, where she claims that the space already feels completely different after painting a large part of the home.
In the just over one-minute clip, Massiel shares with her community that she is in what she herself calls "the beautiful stage" of the process: the moment when everything begins to fall into place, ideas are tested, and decisions are made about the placement of each item until the ideal arrangement is found.
"Little by little, we are already seeing changes. As you have seen in other videos, we have made significant progress. We have been painting a large part of the house, and the truth is that it feels completely different now," says the creator in the video.
The TikToker describes the process with enthusiasm and honesty: "There's still a ways to go, but we're already in the nice phase where we start arranging everything, figuring out where each thing goes, testing ideas, moving things around until it looks just the way we want."
Massiel acknowledges that the renovation has not been easy or immediate, but she insists that the journey is worth it: "It's a process; not everything turns out perfect on the first try. But I assure you we're enjoying it a lot. Every detail matters, each space is taking shape, and that excites me quite a bit."
The video takes on a special significance considering the profile of its author. In March 2026, Massiel publicly revealed that she had left the United States to return to Cuba, a decision that sparked extensive debate on social media. Her home renovation project on the island thus becomes an extension of that personal commitment to building a life in Cuba.
The creator does not forget to thank those who support her in this process: "Thank you for accompanying me on this journey, it truly means a lot to me," she says in the clip, before hinting that the final result is very close: "Stay tuned for the final result because we're almost there."
The video by Massiel is part of a trend that has gained notable popularity on TikTok during 2025 and 2026: Cubans documenting in real-time their efforts to renovate and improve their homes on the island. Similar cases include another creator who shared the progress of the construction of her house with a swimming pool in Cuba this past Tuesday, describing the process as something achieved "little by little and with a lot of sacrifice."
Another TikToker, @sailin751, also returned from the United States and showcased in January 2026 the renovation of her home in Cuba, generating an emotional response among her followers. These videos reflect the personal and family effort to improve living conditions in a context of chronic shortages of construction materials on the island, with many projects being financed by remittances sent from abroad.
The trend shows that, despite the structural difficulties imposed by the Cuban dictatorship, many families see home improvement as a tangible form of daily resistance and a investment in the future within the island.
