Leoni Torres and El B released the music video for the remix of "Cubano" this Saturday, a collaboration born from fan requests that serves as an anthem of identity and freedom for Cubans both on the island and abroad.

It all began on February 14, when both artists shared the stage in Miami during the concert "A Night to Fall in Love with Leoni Torres" and sang together for the first time.

"After my recent concert at the Watsco Center, where El B and I performed this song together, many of our fans requested to make this collaboration a reality," Leoni Torres explained in the description of the video posted on his official YouTube channel.

The result is a theme that combines two very different musical worlds: salsa and the tropical music of Leoni Torres, originally from Santa Cruz del Sur, Camagüey, and the underground rap of El B, one of the most respected and combative voices of the genre in the Cuban diaspora.

In the song, Leoni pours his soul into verses like "I am an angel who writes music with feeling, and even though I do not live in my homeland, I am 100% Cuban", while El B arrives with his unmistakable touch: lyrics imbued with political and emotional weight that leave no one indifferent.

"The full dignity of the pursued man is my creed. To die is not punishment, punishment is to live in fear," raps El B in one of the most powerful moments of the song.

Another verse of his summarizes in a few words the feelings of millions in exile: "the reason of one who lives without a homeland, but without a master".

The ending of the music video leaves no doubt about the message: "If you are asked about Cuba, respond Cuba. It’s me", says El B before both artists conclude in unison with a resounding "Long Live Free Cuba".

Leoni Torres described the remix as "a gift for all Cubans, Latinos, and people from all over the world who feel the need and the strength for Cuba to be free."

The song is released under Torres Productions, Leoni Torres' own label, and it is part of a trend that has gained momentum in recent years: Cuban artists from different genres joining forces to raise their voices for Cuba.
