Leoni Torres


Leoni Torres is a Cuban singer, songwriter, and record producer who was born on November 24, 1977, in Camagüey, Cuba.

He began his career as the vocalist for the group Costa Sur. He also has a lesser-known side as a comedian, which led him to create his own group, 'Los Cariduros.' Two years after this project, he started singing with the Maravillas de Florida orchestra, which eventually led him to join Charanga Habanera after David Calzado heard him, where he gained popularity for eight years.

In 2007, Leoni began his solo career, and since then, he has been continuously achieving success by lending his voice and collaborating on projects with renowned Cuban and international artists such as Descemer Bueno, Polito Ibañez, El Micha, Pablo Milanés, and Kelvis Ochoa. He has recorded with Rosario Flores and Gilberto Santa Rosa, and in 2016, he signed a contract with the record label Magnus, owned by the singer and songwriter Marc Anthony, who took an interest in his musical career following the song "Traidora," performed by Marc Anthony alongside the popular group Gente de Zona, for which the songwriting credits belong to Leoni and Randy Malcom, one of the group's members.

He has received the Popularity Award several times, has served as the soundtrack for Cuban telenovelas (Los tres Villalobos, Añorado encuentro, and Aquí estamos), as well as for television commercials, such as his song "No pierdas el tiempo" for the Center for the Prevention of STIs/HIV/AIDS (MINSAP)

He is married to the Cuban actress and presenter Yuliet Cruz, with whom he has 2 children. Leoni also has a daughter from a previous marriage.
