Leoni Torres is a Cuban singer, songwriter, and record producer who was born on November 24, 1977, in Camagüey, Cuba.
He started his career as the vocalist of the group Costa Sur. He has a lesser-known side as a comedian, which led him to create his own group, 'Los Cariduros.' Two years after this project, he began singing with the Maravillas de Florida orchestra, which eventually led him to join Charanga Habanera after David Calzado heard him, where he gained popularity for eight years.
In 2007, Leoni began his solo career and since then, he has continued to achieve success, bringing his voice together and collaborating on projects with prominent Cuban and international artists such as Descemer Bueno, Polito Ibañez, El Micha, Pablo Milanés, and Kelvis Ochoa. He has recorded with Rosario Flores and Gilberto Santa Rosa, and in 2016, he signed a contract with the record label Magnus, owned by singer and songwriter Marc Anthony, who became interested in his musical career following the song "Traidora," performed by Marc Anthony along with the popular group Gente de Zona, with lyrics co-written by Leoni and Randy Malcom, one of the group members.
He has received the Popularity Award several times, served as the soundtrack for Cuban soap operas (Los tres Villalobos, Añorado encuentro, and Aquí estamos), and for television commercials, such as his song "No pierdas el tiempo" for the Center for STI/HIV/AIDS prevention (MINSAP)
