Leoni Torres

Leoni Torres is a Cuban singer, songwriter, and record producer who was born on November 24, 1977, in Camagüey, Cuba.

He began his career as the vocalist for the group Costa Sur. He also has a lesser-known side as a comedian, which led him to create his own group, 'Los Cariduros'. Two years after this project, he started singing with the Maravillas de Florida orchestra, thanks to which, after David Calzado heard him, he became part of the Charanga Habanera, where he gained popularity for 8 years.

In 2007, Leoni began his solo career, and since then he has consistently achieved success by lending his voice and collaborating on projects with renowned Cuban and international artists such as Descemer Bueno, Polito Ibañez, El Micha, Pablo Milanés, and Kelvis Ochoa. He has recorded with Rosario Flores and Gilberto Santa Rosa, and in 2016 he signed a contract with the Magnus record label, owned by singer and songwriter Marc Anthony, who became interested in his musical career following the song "Traidora," performed by Marc Anthony alongside the popular group Gente de Zona, with lyrics co-written by Leoni and Randy Malcom, one of the group's members.

He has received the Popularity Award on several occasions, has served as the soundtrack for various Cuban telenovelas (Los tres Villalobos, Añorado encuentro, and Aquí estamos), and for television commercials, such as his song "No pierdas el tiempo" for the Center for the Prevention of STIs/HIV/AIDS (MINSAP)

He is married to the Cuban actress and presenter Yuliet Cruz, with whom he has two children. Leoni also has a daughter from a previous marriage.
