The pain shaking Cuban baseball due to the death of Dany Miranda Agramonte has turned into an even deeper tragedy for his family. Just three days after bidding farewell to the former player and manager from Avileño, his father, Omar Miranda Burgos, passed away, unable to overcome the loss.

According to sources close to him and pages related to local baseball, Omar Miranda, 72 years old, experienced a sudden decline in health. People close to him claim that he could not withstand the emotional impact following Dany's unexpected death.

The Tigres team from Ciego de Ávila, deeply affected, expressed their condolences to the family and summed up the collective sentiment with a phrase that reflects the magnitude of the tragedy: “If losing a father is sad, imagine a father having to say goodbye to his son.”

The story has struck a nerve both inside and outside of Cuba. On social media, fans, friends, and former colleagues have shared messages of grief over what many describe as one of the most heartbreaking losses a family can experience.

Dany Miranda, Olympic champion in Athens 2004 and a prominent figure in Avileño baseball, passed away due to medical complications following a surgical procedure, leaving a deep void in Cuban sports.

Now, his departure intertwines with that of his father in an episode that has impacted an entire community. In less than a week, the Miranda family was struck by two deaths that today mourn not only their loved ones but also a country where baseball is part of its identity.

The mourning, this time, transcends the playing field. It is the intimate pain of a family that had no time to recover before experiencing another irreversible blow.
