In her appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast by Alex Cooper, released last Friday as part of a YouTube special for Coachella, Colombian singer Karol G openly confessed her romantic weakness: I have a bit of a thing for the bad boy. I need to change that.
The statements come just three months after it was confirmed that she broke up with Feid in January 2026, after nearly three years of being together.
Karol G described her ideal type as the guy who seems to be from the neighborhood and is laid-back, a phrase that immediately triggered comments from her followers, many of whom directly linked it to her ex-partner Anuel AA.
And that wasn’t the only thing she revealed. The artist disclosed that she discovered an infidelity of an ex-partner thanks to GPS: he told her he was home when he was actually on another continent, miles, kilometers, and seas away. Her reaction was decisive: "No, no, no, that’s a no. That’s a next, please."
He did not mention names, but the fans did not need any more clues. The comments almost unanimously pointed to Anuel AA, with whom she was between 2018 and 2021, and whom she described in her Netflix documentary as part of a "very toxic" relationship: I would wake up and feel like I was going to die.
The contrast with Feid is inevitable. The Antioquian reggaeton artist was for years considered the "good guy" of the story, and reactions on social media quickly began to highlight this. "Oh, poor Ferxoo, he is such a sweetheart," wrote one user. "Feid didn't lose. Feid won," pointed out another. Many agreed that Karol G's confession explains a lot about why that relationship didn’t work out.
Others, on the other hand, criticized her harshly: "So that later she can go on crying at every concert," "Keep believing her victim story." There were those who recommended therapy: "You need to heal, Karol."
There were also those who defended her without hesitation: "The Queen can like whatever she wants," and those who simply identified with her: "Many people deny it, but almost all of them like bad boys; it's a fact."
All of this happens while Karol G is experiencing the best moment of her career. Days earlier, on April 8, she had starred in a session for Playboy where she clearly spoke about her single status: I am leaving everything behind. I am single. She also added that life threw me to the ground, kicked me, pushed me, trampled me, and made me spin around.
In that same interview, she reflected on the patterns she carries as a Latina: "As a good Latina, you are taught to give your all, even to the point of losing yourself."
Meanwhile, Feid also spoke in his own way: he released the song BoleritoXX on April 9, the lyrics of which were interpreted by fans as an indirect reference to the breakup.
Karol G became this weekend the first Latin artist to headline the main stage at Coachella in the 27-year history of the festival, with performances on the weekends of April 10-12 and 17-19. Professionally, at the top. Personally, to be completely honest: my most transformative moments happen when I'm alone.
