The Cuban singer Velito El Bufón released a sneak peek of his new music video "Te echo de menos" and sparked a buzz on social media, but not necessarily for the music: followers noticed that the models in the clip—a blonde and a brunette—bear a striking resemblance to the two most significant women in his romantic life.
The video was shared on Instagram with the announcement that the official premiere would be today, Friday, at six in the evening, and the comments quickly turned into a festival of humor and cheekiness.
The theory that quickly spread among fans is that Velito deliberately chose a blonde model and a brunette model to represent, respectively, his new girlfriend Paula Martínez —a blonde cabin crew member—and his ex Thalía, the mother of his two children.
"The new one, the new one, and the ex, did he look for dancers that look alike or is it just me?", wrote a follower, summarizing what everyone was thinking.
Another comment that garnered reactions was: "Did anyone catch the dancers' hints or is it just me? We need to finish the video to see what happens."
The most direct comparison came with: "The dark-haired girl resembles Thalía, is it just a coincidence?" And several users got even more to the point: "The dancers look like each of the women, a very direct hint," "Even the models look alike, what a shame," and "You already know, the models: the new one and the ex."
But the comment that stole the headlines was the comparison to the recent scandal involving Christian Nodal: "Not even Cristian Nodal dared to go this far, look at how Velito El Bufón is behaving." Someone even directly dubbed him "Nodal 3.0."
The reference makes perfect sense: on April 10, Nodal released the music video for "Un vals" featuring model Dagna Mata as the lead, whose physical resemblance to his ex Cazzu —short dark hair, neck tattoos, nose piercing— sparked international controversy. The video was removed from TikTok, and Nodal had to publicly distance himself: "I do not own my name, my image, or my music", and what has happened with the video is evidence of that.
The difference, according to Velito's fans, is that the Cuban didn't settle for one model: he included two, each representing a different woman from his story. "Mmm, one with blonde hair and the other a brunette, the hints are strong," summarized another follower amid laughter.
The sentimental context of Velito is well known: he separated from Thalía in February 2026, just three days after the birth of their second child, Thiago, and since then, he has released a series of songs that his fans interpret as dedicated to his ex, which earned him the nickname "the Shakiro of Cuba". In March, he made his relationship with Paula Martínez official in Spain.
The most liked comment on the preview summed it up with a single phrase: "It's something that, as long as it draws inspiration from it, they're all sticks."
